ISOFILM UH
ISOSPORT skived foils - the solution for your coating needs, if you’re looking for minimal abrasion and high chemical resistance!
The UHMW-PE (Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene) foil, also known as skived foil, is often called a jack-of-all-trades substance, because of its unusual material properties. An unimaginably long molecular chain means that the material displays extreme resistance to impact, tearing and abrasion, as well as to acidity, leaching and other chemicals. Through additives in the formula, the foil can also be made to be UV- and ozone resistant, or conductive.
The unbelievable sturdiness of UHMW-PE, and its suitability for a variety of different uses, makes it a favorite material of technicians and industrial designers.
Opportunities for use are wide and varied:
• Coatings in the ski- and snowboard industry
• Covering or core of hydraulic and industrial hoses
• In industrial equipment
• Insulating and protective components for high-stress areas in the construction of cars
• For use as cutting plates in the food sector
• Airboat surfaces
• Docking protection in harbor construction
• Lubricating element in electronic equipment
• As a replacement for PTFE (Polytetrafluorethylen/Teflon), e.g. in ski bindings
• Adhesive tape
• Offshore uses
