ISODUR - Insert material

ISOSPORT has several ski and snowboard insert product groups in its range. This range uses both thermoplastic resins and thermoset resin material.

These products are mostly applied to the tip and tail areas, in order to even out differences in thickness and as an intermediate layer, where, for example, partial lamination is carried out.

It is important that tip and tail insert material exhibits good adhesion values, as it is bonded to the carrying splices on several sides. This is why extruded, phenolic and melamine sheets are sanded pursuant to client request (unilaterally or bilaterally) and optionally flame-treated.

In the case of thermoplastic resin inserts, manufactured through continuous processing, the ABS and PE material is extruded into sheets/foils The cut is as requested - either into strips or sheets. Colour selection for all ID 2000 product types may occur analogous to sidewall material by means of the colour palette. The SKP sidewall (phenol) exhibits excellent mechanical properties, and is best suited for dark colours. Sheets or strips of phenolic resin are especially suited to be applied as edge inserts in skis.

The standard white melamine resin insert SKE is also suitable for light, brilliant colours due to its good UV-stability (special colours requiring minimum purchase amounts: red, fluorescent colours etc.), and exhibits high elasticity for a thermoset resin.

Specialised products on the basis of fibre glass reinforced ABS or sintered polyethylene complete the product range.
