ISOCORE - PUR core material
ISOCORE PUR is a rigid material composed of solid foam - reinforced with endless glass fibres - and combines high compressive strength and high alternate bending capacity with low weight to achieve an ideal core material for sandwich constructions.
The PUR foam formulas, which are specifically adapted to fit the manufacturing process, as well as special layered glass fleece guarantee optimum distribution of glass reinforcement and an almost closed-cell composition of the foam matrix.
ISOCORE PUR can be easily processed, and easily bonded to a wide range of different materials by means of conventional adhesive bonding systems (e.g. epoxy-resin based agents).
Its anisotropic properties make ISOCORE PUR extremely suitable as core material for light-weight ski constructions. The fibres of the glass-reinforced foam core must be oriented vertically to the running surface in order to achieve the maximum effect with regard to compressive stability in the dominating stress direction.
We are able to meet customers‘ specific requirements for tailored core compositions by bonding a variety of sidewall materials or applying veneers of varying thickness to the core material. A streamlined cutting process makes it possible to manufacture ski blanks from sheets with minimal waste material.
The source material is processed into sheets with densities ranging from 100 to 400 kg/m³. The product width constitutes max. 600 mm. The possible product thickness depends on the material‘s volumetric weight. The specified thickness tolerance is maintained by means of sanding procedures carried out after sheet production.
These core materials carry the brand name ISOCORE followed by a code indicating the density (IC RG xxx).
